Beautiful stoneware salad bowl from Puisaye with a wonderful, slightly pyrite glaze in soft ecru, caramel, and chocolate colors—a material and color scheme typical of the 1970s. Its design is simple and elegant; it would be perfect for serving a green salad on a festive table in a country chic style, and could also be used as a fruit bowl. A beautiful piece of handcrafted pottery, both wheel-thrown and glazed, by the ceramist Jean-Pierre Prud'homme. It is signed underneath and is part of a very large Prud'homme service that I have sourced, some of which is already for sale here. Feel free to take a look in my shop. Jean-Pierre Prud'homme and his wife founded a pottery workshop in 1971 in Monnaie, working with clay from the Nièvre region (Puisaye stoneware). This workshop still exists today (Au grès du vent), run by the owner's son Benoît, who took over in the 1990s and 2000s and also creates beautiful ceramics. This salad bowl dates from the 1970s or 80s and is in very good condition, with no cracks, chips, or abrasions, just a few small chips on the base. It measures 24.5 cm in diameter and 10 cm in height.
