A pair of armchairs made in France around 1950. The solid beech structure rests on an inclined front base and slightly flared back legs. The curved armrests extend forward in a fluid line, supported by a double lateral crossbar that enhances the horizontal reading. The backrest, slightly flared at the top, complements a wide and deep seat. The silhouette is balanced, without any superfluous decorative effects. The whole presents a clear construction, where the curve of the armrests interacts with the bold geometry of the base. A representative typology of French furniture from the Reconstruction period. Edition: French work, around 1950.
