Result chairs by Friso Kramer for Ahrend De Cirkel, 1960

Vintage design. This model result chair, designed by friso kramer in 1963, was manufactured by ahrend de cirkel, the netherlands. This model was produced in 1964. Kramer was born in amsterdam in 1922. As an industrial and furniture designer, and as a member of influential groups and movements, kramer's ideas and creations have consistently worked to propel the modernist aesthetic of the netherlands. In the period from 1948 to 1963 he was employed by de cirkel, where he designed some of his most iconic pieces such as this revolt chair. A retrospective exhibition of his work was held in the stedelijk museum in amsterdam in 1977. In 1979 kramer received the title 'royal designer for industry' by the rsa (royal society for the encouragement of arts, manufactures and commerce) in london.
