8-arm 12-light hot air balloon chandelier

Large 8 arm 12 light empire style hot air balloon basket crystal chandelier. The chandelier features 8 arms adorned with beads and intricate flower decoration.the arms lead to cut glass bobeches adorned with crystal prisms the chandelier is made up of two decorative rings with multiple strings of graduated sized cut glass crystals adorning the space between them. More crystals enclose the bottom of the piece with rectangular prisms between the octagonal crystals leading to a round brass decorative finial.from the finial hang 8 futher prisms and a diamond shaped crystal. To the top of the basket are 8 small arms decorated with beads each with a hanging crystal prism. In the center of the chandelier is a brass bar with the four further bulb holders making 12 lights in total providing ample illumination for even the largest of rooms. The chandelier hangs from a large decorative hoop 1 link chain and decorative cup style ceiling fitting.the light has french twin core wiring and takes 4 large bayonet bulb b22s on the inside and 8 small screw in bulbs e14s in the arms.the brass frame work is in good antique condition with age related patina the crystal beads are in good condition bright and clear with no visible chips or cracks some of the prisms may have some small nibbles but nothing that detracts from their beauty. The candle drips are the original and have age related wear with some crumbling and discolouration. We do take a lot of time and care when wrapping our chandeliers however some of the strings may become detached in transit but it is simply a case of hooking the strings back together.
