The famous Dr Sonderbar armchair designed by Philippe Starck for XO editions in 1983. A mythical armchair that takes its name from the character in the novel Ubik. Ultra minimalist, even essentialist, with its tripod format explained by Philippe Starck, who said: "The fourth leg is a redundancy. The tripod creates a tension. A three-legged seat obviously has a different spirit. It demands more attention, greater participation, more intellectual and sensual requirements from the user. There is a beginning of a relationship with the person who is going to sit down. Balancing on a tripod is more dangerous, but more fun."
