Creation of the Finnish artist and designer Timo Sarpaneva (1926- 1926) This object is part of the line of "bark glass" vases "Finlandia" produced by Littala between 1964 and 1970. The collection was distinguished by a thick glass, with a rough surface that recalled both the tree bark and the ice of his native Finland. The glass was poured and blown into old wooden molds and left until they burned, which made each object in the series unique and natural. Diameter 14.3 cm. Height 5 cm. Base thickness 2 cm. Weight 582g. Color: shades of smoky gray and green. Signed below "Timo Sarpaneva 3357" Perfect with some moss, foliage, rosebuds, floating candle..., it could also be a pretty pocket trinket, or an elegant serving bowl. Its natural design will undoubtedly inspire you... In very good condition, no missing parts or cracks, I only note a few scratches from use under the base, normal for a 60-year-old object.
