Ceramic dish by Georges Destrebecq (1925-1984), mid-20th century. The Nimy Mastery (1943-1950) was a movement composed of eight artists, including Georges Destrebecq, Fernande Massart, Louis Waem, René Lemaigre, Pierre Monne, André Hupet, Irène Zacq, and Geneviève Noé. Pioneers in the desire to elevate ceramics to the status of an art form, and the rise of the unique piece, in reaction to industrialization. Unique decorations based on a variation on the same theme in terms of technique and basic form. A research project on the material, form, and precursor decoration of the 1950s. Model with a diameter of 34 cm. Decorations created sometimes by a composition of various sgraffito scroll friezes (hollowed out of the mass) and sometimes by enamel applied with a brush. Earth-colored enamels, red tones, and gold highlights. Red clay ceramic. Good overall condition, see photos. Very little chipping, no losses. Signed on the heel. Height 6 X Diameter 34.
