Between 1958 and 1961 Picasso made numerous linocuts, a process he found extremely stimulating. First published in signed editions of 50 by the Louise Leiris Gallery, many of which now sell for between £8,000 and £80,000 each. Picasso invented the method of 'reduction', progressively cutting the same linoblock for each new colour, making it impossible to take further impressions from the original block. In 1962, in collaboration with Picasso and the Louise Leiris Gallery, new linoleum plates were made at 42% of the original size, and it is from these that the prints offered here were made. Measure; cm.27x32,5. Very good condition. Unsigned. Please note: this is not a reprint but an authentic 1962 print, approved by Picasso.
