Louis-Philippe walnut commode with marble top and pediment mirror –

Elegant Louis-Philippe period chest of drawers in solid walnut and walnut veneer, dating from the second half of the 19th century. This piece of furniture stands out for its complete and harmonious structure: • Lower part: A chest of drawers with a curved front opening with 4 drawers. The lock entries and drop handles in silvered metal/bronze are original and add a touch of refinement. • Top: A thick marble with red/brown hues (griotte marble), in excellent condition, which gives the piece a true presence. • Upper part: A superb mirror with an ornate frame, flanked by two small storage drawers ("jewellery boxes"). The pediment is richly carved with floral motifs and a central shell. Condition: Overall, it is in beautiful condition. The wood has a superb natural patina. For the sake of accuracy, there are a few old woodworm holes, testifying to its age and authenticity. The wood is sound and the structure is perfectly stable.
