Murano Sommerso glass fruit bowl / centerpiece (1960s/70s)

Spectacular murano glass fruit bowl, made using the sommerso technique (layers of colored glass superimposed on clear glass). Intense blue fused into clear crystal, the piece captivates with its fluid and organic movement, typical of the great venetian glassworks such as seguso vetri d'arte or arte nuova murano in the 1960s and 1970s. The base is ground with a wheel, as is the artisan tradition, and the fusion of blue and clear demonstrates remarkable technical mastery. Perfect as a centerpiece, collector's item or decorative object.
