Oil on canvas marine by Louis-Marie Désiré-Lucas, early 20th century. Born in 1869 in Fort-de-France (Martinique) and died in 1949 in Douarnenez (Finistère), he was a French painter and lithographer, a student of William Bouguereau, Tony Robert-Fleury, and Jules Joseph Lefebvre. Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, he won a bronze medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle, and the following year the French state purchased two of his paintings, one of which is still exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. He also received the Rosa-Bonheur Prize in 1910 and was elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts and the Institut de France in 1943. His works are still displayed in numerous French museums. In very good condition, no accidents on the canvas, clean painting, not dirty. Much more beautiful in person than in photos (reflections). The fifth photo is taken in daylight. Superb piece. Dimensions including frame: height 26.5 cm, width 40.2 cm, depth 3.5 cm. Dimensions of the painting: height 19.5 cm, width 33.5 cm.
