Oil on marine canvas by louis-marie désiré-lucas, early twentieth century. Born in 1869 in fort-de-france (martinique) and died in 1949 in douarnenez (finistère), was a french painter and lithographer, student of william bouguereau, tony robert-fleury and jules joseph lefebvre. Trained at the école nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, he won the bronze medal at the universal exhibition of 1900, the following year the french state bought him two paintings, one of which is still exhibited at the musée d'orsay in paris. He also received the prix rosa-bonheur in 1910 and was elected to the académie des beaux-arts and the institut de france in 1943. It remains exhibited in many french museums. Very nice condition, no accident in the canvas, clean paint, not dirty. Much more beautiful in real life than on photos (reflections). The fifth photo is in daylight. Great room. Frame dimensions included: height 26.5 cm, width 40.2 cm, depth 3.5 cm. Painting dimensions: height 19.5 cm, width 33.5 cm.
