Carved oak mirror - 1930s

A favourite for this large 1930s mirror, a character piece that combines the robustness of solid oak with the elegance of Art Deco lines. We love its beautifully crafted "gendarme hat" pediment, adorned with two sculpted rosettes in bas-relief that add a charming touch. The wood has been sanded and waxed, finished with colourless beeswax. The central mirror is bevelled, highlighting the quality of craftsmanship of the era. Condition: The whole is in a beautiful state of preservation. The oak frame has been cleaned, sanded, and waxed. Note: the mirror's silvering shows signs of oxidation (small spots) scattered throughout, authentic testimonies of its passage through time that do not detract from its use but confirm its ancient soul. An ideal piece to crown a sideboard or to add depth to an entrance.
