Emaux de longwy standing bowl from the "balade" series, polychrome plant decoration enhanced with gold on a bordeaux red background, 1950s. Original label and signature on the back. Perfect condition diameter 21cm height 4.5 cm about... Faïenceries de longwy created in 1798 in lorraine, renowned since the first empire, the faïencerie belonged to the d'huart family for 140 years. In 1872, the italian amédée de caranza joined the factory and produced cloisonné enamels on earthenware. This is the birth of the famous emaux de longwy, dedicated to the universal exhibition of 1878. In the 1920s, art deco took pride of place (creation in particular of the "primavera" collection with the printemps stores) the culmination of which was the international exhibition of decorative arts in paris in 1925.
