Pair of Italian armchairs dating from the 1980s, inspired by the experimental geometry of Joe Colombo’s Tube chair from the late 1960s. Their low profile and sculptural construction create a distinctive silhouette, with cylindrical upholstered elements forming the seat and backrest. Each armchair comprises four large cylinders measuring 34 cm in diameter and a smaller cylinder measuring 10 cm in diameter, positioned between the seat and backrest to provide lumbar support. Black metal side frames connect the elements, while exposed brass fittings highlight the construction and contrast with the soft upholstery. Upholstered in sand-colored cotton bouclé, the chairs combine a warm, textured surface with a graphic metal framework. Their sculptural form can be appreciated from all sides, making them particularly suited to freestanding placement in a living room, lounge or reception area.
