8 chairs danish dowel wood chairs, 1800s

8 chairs for sale in a set. Old oak wood chairs from a home in the middle of the old town of copenhagen. From the 1800s denmark. The cubestic and modern design combined with a wonderful timber grain and patina makes these chairs unique. They are simple in shape and structure, with more wood working details around the legs. They are traditionally made using no screws, no nails only using wood dowels, all timber is original with no additions or alterations (except 1 chair, see at the end) The condition is excellent for the period, there may be some light age and use related patina marks here and there as you would expect. They have a perfect height for a modern dining table which is rare for vintage chairs. And the comfort of these chairs are great, the tall straight back supports very well, and the big seating area gives a good feeling and able to move. In the style of high victorian. All eight chairs are strong and in great condition. See pictures of the seats, where 4 of them has a crack through, but still works completely fine and useable. 1 of them has multipel cracks and has been restored with small nails in the seat, but again in great workind condition. That is the only modification/restoration that has been made for these chairs. 48cm seat height.
