This simply stunning antique 19th-century Tuscan large oval dining room table features a gorgeous shape, thanks to its soft and sober lines typical of the Directoire and Empire period, making it a timeless piece. Crafted from precious woods, the clear and sober lines of the Directoire period are beautifully softened by the refined oval shape, while saber legs provide an elegant touch and ensure maximum seating comfort. Dating back to the second half of the 19th century, this rare elliptical dining table originates from the Tuscany region, likely Lucca or Florence. The table is entirely veneered in cherry wood, with a sober design accentuated by black ebony inlay framing the top and saber legs, as well as geometric ebony details on the upper legs and their terminals. The wood's grain and warm patina are enhanced by a hand-applied beeswax finish. Spacious enough to seat eight guests comfortably (ten if necessary, given the lightweight and tapered saber legs that do not obstruct seating), the table is both comfortable and sturdy. Ideal not only for dining but also as a meeting table in a study or office, the piece represents excellent structural condition, with only very slight signs of wear on the top, which serve to add character. Dimensions: Length 250 cm, Width 125 cm, Height 77 cm. Original patina, hand-polished with beeswax.
