Tea set designed for "axis design" in the late 80s, by the english ceramist carol mcnicoll (born in 1943). The teapot was exhibited at the pompidou center, as it embodied the spirit of design of the 80s – 90s, along with other artists and cultural movement of the time. At first, there was only the teapot, the rest of the service: cups, vase, empty pocket, were not there yet, there was only the crumpled teapot. It is part of a series published in 500 copies worldwide. At the time, "axis design" made only small series with limited edition. This is one of the reasons why we rarely see this teapot on display. It is in good condition with the exception of a small burst of enamel, (as seen in the photo), the same for one of the three cups. Fortunately, these two small splinters go unnoticed. The rest is in very good condition and functional. In addition, this teapot remains in its juice, its interior is very culotté, because the art of drinking tea requires rinsing the teapot with clear water and not washing it. It is therefore a real vintage teapot that was used regularly during tea ceremonies during the 80s – 90s.
