Czechoslovak Rattan and Wood Swing Arm Wall Lamp, 1960s

Distinctive Czechoslovak swing arm wall lamp dating from the 1960s, crafted from wood and woven rattan. The design combines a wall-mounted wooden support with an extended horizontal arm from which the generously proportioned conical rattan shade is suspended. Its open woven construction filters the light beautifully, producing dramatic patterns of light and shadow across the surrounding walls. The combination of natural rattan and warm-toned wood gives the lamp a characteristic Mid-Century Modern appearance while its extended wall-mounted construction makes it particularly practical beside a bed, sofa or reading area. The electrical wiring has been renewed and includes an inline switch. Fitted with one E26/E27 socket and compatible with both European and US electrical systems. Good vintage condition with minor signs of use and age consistent with its age.
