Superb pegarra or traditional water jug from the southwest in patinated terracotta. Equipped with a handle and a tubular spout, this beautiful popular object, which has become rare today, is in very good condition (no cracks or breakages) and has beautiful visible signs of age and use, notably thanks to the limestone. Mate, which can also be called dourne, has a raw and authentic appearance. This true artisanal pottery celebrates the beauty of imperfection and the natural passage of time, which makes it particularly well suited to creating a wabi sabi atmosphere. It can be used as a container or vase to hold flowers but, when properly highlighted, it stands alone. A magnificent unique piece, all rounded, to place on a sideboard, a dedicated base or simply on the floor. Characteristics: origin southwest, probably from the Basque country / around 1900 / h 25 X l max 40 X d 36 cm / approximately 5 kg.
