Ancient painting – Impressionist river landscape at dusk – Hu

Charm of the old and bucolic poetry for this magnificent miniature work full of character. Let yourself be seduced by this delightful antique painting, an oil on panel depicting a woodland landscape by the water. Executed with a pronounced impressionist touch, the work beautifully plays on contrasts: the misty softness of an azure sky reflecting in the river responds to the vibrancy of autumn foliage in warm hues (oranges, ochres, and touches of violet). The painting technique is remarkable: the artist uses generous material with superb textured impasto that catches the light and gives a unique relief to the scene. The work is signed "M. Bonvin" in the lower right, a landscape painter known for his river scenes and luminous atmospheres. The painting is enhanced by its original molded wooden frame with a bleached and cerused patina. It integrates wonderfully into a Shabby Chic or Country House style decor. Note a discreet natural age crack in the lower right corner of the frame, which attests to its authenticity without compromising its sturdiness. Thanks to its highly sought-after miniature format, it will find its place on a gallery wall or displayed on a vintage sideboard. • Dimensions with frame: 28 X 19.5 cm • Dimensions painting only: 20 X 11.8 cm • Hanger installed on the back, ready to be hung.
