Decorative dish or fruit cup hubert béquet. In 1934, he created his own earthenware factory in quaregnon. The hubert bequet pottery had a dazzling development to reach, in 1963, the peak of its success employing then more than one hundred and fifty workers. Faced with various problems, the earthenware factory was bought in 1978 by the company jema of maastricht. It closed its doors definitively in december 1982. Hubert bequet continued to produce earthenware in a small workshop, la faïencerie du borinage, until april 1985, it was one of the few belgian ceramic factories to have managed to combine creativity and mass production of earthenware1. The neat productions, frequently decorated with fine gold, initially bear on the back the belgium brand associated with a model number. Later productions are marked with a stamp "made in belgium h. Bequet quaregnon". This dish on a glossy black background has in its center a hand painting with a floral composition, on the sides a grid gilded with fine gold like the edges that are wave-shaped, the stamp h.bequet is placed below with its manufacturing number. This dish was made in the 80s, it has some signs of wear related to its use but it still has beautiful colors very bright. Used in centerpiece as a fruit cup or decoration, it can also be hung on a wall, this dish is a beautiful decorative element, handmade by the potter, it is a unique item. Width 36 cm. Depth 24 cm. Height 11 cm. Weight 1, 300 kg.
