Kähler (1846-1917) was a pioneering Danish ceramist who managed one of Denmark's most important ceramic workshops in Næstved from 1872 until his death. The workshop, founded in 1839 by his father Joachim Christian Herman Kähler as a tile kiln and pottery workshop, became a cornerstone of Danish ceramic excellence. Under Herman's son, Herman H.C. Kähler (1876-1940), the workshop achieved great artistic success with decorative free-flowing horn painting in blue, green, and brown on glossy yellowish glaze. The grandsons Herman J. Kähler (1904-1996) and Nils Kähler (1906-1979) renewed production through 1974, introducing stoneware and the characteristic turquoise glaze that became synonymous with Kähler ceramics. Shipped with care worldwide to ensure this exceptional piece arrives safely.
