"Tampung" box, bamboo and leaf Indonesia, Lombok early 20th century

Rare, beautiful and large traditional box known as Tampung, for domestic use. Made of bamboo strips and plant fibres, dried banana leaves, craftsmanship, Indonesian folk art, Lombok, early 20th century (around 1900-1940). Oval cylindrical shape in black and light patinated wood tones. Very good condition for its age, with some signs of wear, areas of worn rattan weaving, slightly loose strips but the structure is intact, one strip missing, very discreet. Weighs approximately 80 grams.
