This charming and expertly crafted piece of furniture stands out for its ingenious organisation and refined details of cabinetmaking. The upper part features an open niche adorned with a delicate carved wooden frieze, a display case closed by an original glass door, as well as a series of drawers with chiselled bronze handles. The locks operate with the original key. The top is decorated with a superb upper gallery with turned wooden balusters, ideal for displaying decorative objects. The lower part includes vertical compartments or niches with wooden dividers, specifically designed for storing music sheets or large books (sized for vinyl records). The entire piece rests on a finely tapered and turned base. Features & Dimensions. • Style: Classic / Napoleon III / Artisan furniture. • Material: Solid walnut (beautiful warm patina) and bronze handles/locks. • Use: Ideal as a side cabinet, display case, in a living room, office, or hallway, as a charming library piece in a bedroom, or as a music cabinet (turntable on the upper shelf, vinyl records in the vertical niches). Condition. Good aesthetic and structural condition for use. The furniture is sound, stable, and rigid. The drawers and door operate perfectly. Original key included. Please note (see detail photos): a natural vertical split in the grain of the wood is visible on the left side panel. This is a slight separation from use at the original glue joint between two walnut panels. It reflects the age of the solid wood without compromising the sturdiness of the piece. The right side, on the other hand, is impeccable.
