Exceptional furniture set from the 1940s-50s, attributed to the famous French decorator Maurice Jallot. This desk and its matching chair are iconic pieces of Reconstruction design, combining elegance, lightness, and geometric rigor. This set stands out for its cerused oak finish, a technique typical of this period that subtly highlights the natural grain of the wood, creating a soft and luminous contrast. Desk Features: The desk features an "airy" design with an overhanging top and tapered lines. Design: Belt with two central drawers featuring a "diamond point" veneer work. Storage: Two open side niches providing elegant storage space. Legs: Four tapered legs with a square section. Dimensions: Height 79 cm|Length 139.5 cm|Depth 69.5 cm. Chair Features: Perfectly matching, it offers a comfortable seat and a robust oak structure. Backrest: Openwork with three curved horizontal rungs. Seat: Upholstered in green. Legs: Saber-shaped rear legs for optimal stability. Dimensions: Total height 82.5 cm|Width (armrests) 54.5 cm|Seat height 48 cm. Condition and Restoration: Structure: Good overall condition, healthy oak with its original ceruse and patina. Hardware: Important note — the current ceramic knobs are not original. The brass knobs should be restored to regain the authentic and luxurious aesthetic of Maurice Jallot's creations. This set is in line with the works of Charles Dudouyt, Chaleyssin, or Maxime Old.
