Small caucasian vintage/antique carpet 135x88cm. A fascinating carpet that I struggle to pinpoint accurately, it seems like there's nothing like it on all of google, so it's definitely an opportunity to own something quite unique. Hand-knotted in wool, it has kazakh patterns and something like the tree of life. It is not symmetrical, which leads me to believe that it is a prayer rug. It is also difficult to date, but one expert suggested to me that it dates from the early to mid-twentieth century. It is in good condition for its age but with a slight leech of the tincture in a corner that is really evident only after careful inspection.
