These wall sconces are representative of the Art Deco style of Paul Kiss, a master wrought iron artist of Hungarian origin, active mainly in the 1920s and 1930s. Signed at the base. Paul Kiss is famous for elevating metalwork to the level of art, creating pieces where geometric rigor and floral lyricism combine. His sconces, like the ones you present, often stand out for: Clean, angular, and symmetrical lines, typical of Art Deco. Stylised floral or plant motifs, engraved or pierced in the metal, adding an organic touch to the geometric rigor. The use of wrought iron, sometimes hammered, often combined with frosted or sandblasted glass, as in your models, where the glass globe diffuses a soft, muted light. A robust yet elegant structure, with exquisite ornamental details, such as articulated arms or decorative wall fittings. Paul Kiss exhibited his works at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, an event that marked the peak of the Art Deco movement. He was awarded several medals for his work, particularly for his wrought iron creations that combine functionality and aesthetics. Price: €3000.
