Ancient French pedestal in elm – Stand from the early 1900s

This antique pedestal comes from France and dates from the early 20th century. It is made of solid elm and features a beautifully turned column resting on a circular base with a matching round top. The natural variations and aged patina of the elm highlight its rich grain and craftsmanship. Traditionally called a "sellette," this type of support was used to display sculptures, busts, or decorative objects. Today, it serves equally well as a plant stand or a sculptural accent in both traditional and modern interiors.
