Overview. Expandable Art Deco dining table from France, circa 1930. Rectangular top with a striking book‑matched walnut veneer and a refined shellac (French) polish. Materials. Top: walnut veneer with veneered sides and legs. Underframe: polished chrome tubular trestle base with a horizontal steel tube rail between the legs. Extension leaves: ebonized (black) inlay plates. Dimensions. Three usable lengths depending on the number of inlay plates: 120 cm (no plates), 157 cm (one plate), 192 cm (two plates). Depth: 102 cm. Height: 102 cm. Largest dimensions (192 × 102 × 102 cm) given for reference. Features. Central split tabletop allowing two optional inlay leaves for flexible extension. Polished chrome base provides an open, airy underframe and a contrasting modern touch to the warm walnut veneer. Book‑matched veneer pattern on the top gives a symmetrical, decorative grain.
