Rare set of 5 compartmentalised plates produced by Steuler Keramik in West Germany in the 1970s. This model is distinguished by a particularly elaborate organic shape, very different from traditional fondue plates. Each piece features a central basin surrounded by an elegant relief of cabochons, as well as several integrated compartments for separating sauces, side dishes, tapas, or various preparations. The gradient decoration from chocolate brown to ivory is characteristic of Steuler's high-end productions. The sculptural silhouette and treatment of the volumes strongly resemble the work of Cari Zalloni, an iconic designer of the German manufacturer.
