French Empire Style Cut Crystal & Gilt Brass Footed Bowl

Elegant Empire-style footed bowl (tazza / coupe) combining a cut crystal bowl with a gilt brass mount. The bowl features a deep diamond-point cut pattern (“pointe de diamant”) that catches the light beautifully. It is framed by a gilt rim decorated with a classical palmette frieze, and rests on a slender gilt stem with a gadrooned socle and a square plinth base with canted corners. A classic Empire-revival piece, probably French, mid-20th century. Ideal as a centerpiece, a fruit or sweets dish, or a decorative vide-poche on a console or dressing table.
