Old solid and translucent crystal empty-pocket, which can be used as a centerpiece or a small fruit bowl, in the shape of a starfish, with five branches, Bayel crystal factory (France, Champagne-Ardenne, Aube), 1960s-1970s. Acid-etched mark under the object: "Bayel / Cristal" around the coat of arms of the Aube commune, on the band (factory mark). Height 5.8 cm; diameter 25 cm; weight 709 g. Good condition. Some scratches on one branch of the object. See photos. This rounded empty-pocket seems to be a flagship product of the Bayel factory in the 1960s-1970s, at a time when all French crystal manufacturers had a similar decorative object in their commercial catalog, Baccarat or Vannes-le-Châtel to name just two: all offered their own model of "star" empty-pocket. The retro design of this delicate piece, with its simple and refined design, will bring a touch of exoticism to your interior decoration, a little air of vacation in the tropics on your reception table... The starfish is entirely devoted to the marine environment to the point of considering it, undoubtedly because of its very graphic form, as a true emblem in the many artistic representations of the sea and marine creatures.
