Authentic Art Deco serving tray from the period (circa 1920-1930) Model in solid wood with geometric lines and sculpted handles typical of the 1930s aesthetic. The base harmoniously combines a light wood section and a bevelled mirror section that adds depth. The central decoration in painted glass, fixed under glass, depicts an antelope (or gazelle) in mid-leap, an iconic and highly sought-after animal figure from this period. The piece is signed "DOPE" in the bottom left of the decoration. Condition of the item: generally in beautiful vintage condition. It shows fine superficial cracks on the original transparent protective film, located on the light base near one of the handles and the signature. The back of the tray has slightly warped over time, but this does not detract from the sturdiness or the authentic charm of this century-old tray.
