Hanging lamp / PH 5

This 'PH5' hanging ceiling lamp was designed by Poul Hennigsen and produced by Louis Poulsen in Denmark since 1958. Hennigsen wanted to create a lamp that captured the golden hour, aiming for a diffused glow with no glaring bulbs, achieved by using three shades to direct the light. The PH5 became an instant success and is one of the most popular lamps in Danish midcentury design. The steel structure has a single light socket for E27 fitted lamps and is finished with blue paint underneath. There are a few chips of white paint on the edge, but otherwise it is in good, original condition.
