Nest tables Thonet No. 10 Art Nouveau 1900

Here is a rare set of four Thonet nesting tables made of bent wood, model no. 10, produced around 1900, emblematic of the excellence of the famous Viennese manufacture. The complete set is not often found. These pieces illustrate with great formal purity the absolute mastery of steam-bent beech, a revolutionary process that brought Thonet international fame at the end of the 19th century. The lines, of rigorous elegance, stand out for their precise proportions and the fluidity of the curves. Free from any decorative artifice, they embody a forward-thinking functional aesthetic, heralding the foundations of modern design. The tables are in good condition for their great age of 125 years... The wood on the tops (which have likely been revarnished) shows signs of wear. Table 3, in particular, has a black mark that could be concealed by an object (see photos). The edges of the tops show some missing varnish.
