Articulated aperitif platter "Amuse-Gueule" – Yonel Lebovici (c. 1972)

Iconic piece of spatial and kinetic design from the 1970s: the famous "Amuse-Gueule" serving tray created by French sculptor and designer Yonel Lebovici (1937-1998). A true functional sculpture, this pop object evokes a structure of atoms or molecules. It is made up of 13 rigid white plastic (ABS/PVC) spheres: 12 hollow hemispheres designed to hold your savoury biscuits or olives, and a central sphere that conceals an ingenious pivoting axis. With a simple circular gesture, the upper part turns to elegantly open or close the tray. Designer: Yonel Lebovici. Era: Circa 1972 / 1970s. Materials: White injected plastic.
