Sublime traditional antique bench from North India, probably Rajasthan or Gujarat, famous for its wood craftsmanship. This model, locally called charpoy or manjaa, testifies to ancestral know-how combining sculpture, braiding and natural materials. Solid wood hand-carved, floral and geometric patterns finely engraved on the front and part of the back of the backrest. The seat is made of an original old braiding in natural fiber (probably coconut fiber), patinated by time, with authentic charm. Turned legs and original finishes. Very good condition, some links are broken but the structure is healthy and very solid! This unique piece combines raw aesthetics and artisanal elegance, ideal as a decorative object or collector's item. It will find its perfect place in a bohemian, wabi-sabi, ethnic or authentic interior.
