Elegant and rare planter attributed to Claude Mahey, an iconic French designer of the 1970s, known for his luxurious creations combining polished brass and glossy black lacquer. This piece, of very fine quality and substantial weight, perfectly illustrates the decorative and architectural spirit of French design from the seventies. Cubic in shape and with meticulous finishes, it combines geometric rigor with the refinement of materials. Each face is highlighted with gilded brass, contrasting with the deep and luminous black of the lacquer. A true collector's item, rare on the market, from a limited production, ideal as a sculptural cache-pot, indoor planter, or decorative accent in a contemporary living room. In good vintage condition, with a slight patina on the brass (light oxidation) consistent with its age.
