Large Basque teapot Goicoechea – Basque cross decoration

Large glazed earthenware teapot from the Goicoechea pottery (Basque Country). Imposing size and entirely hand-painted decoration. On the cream background, large traditional Basque crosses, or lauburu, stand out, combined with a pattern of colourful bands that also feature the emblematic stripes of the Basque Country. The unglazed underside reveals the characteristic orange terracotta of this glazed earthenware production. The teapot is marked with the Goicoechea brand. In excellent vintage condition, shiny (see photos). Dimensions: length from handle to spout 24 cm – height 17 cm – maximum width 19 cm – depth 13 cm – weight 1.050 kg – estimated capacity approximately 1.5 litres. A strong and warm piece, as beautiful on a table as it is displayed in a kitchen.
