An eclectic pill box from the 19th century, produced by the Bronowski workshop in Poland, made of brass covered with silver plating. The surface maintains a balanced contrast between the warm sheen of matte silver and amber reflections of the base metal, visible where the silver plating has gently worn away over time. The cylindrical body, maximally simplified, is closed with a hemispherical lid fitted onto a pronounced collar, subtly accented by a peripheral groove; a similar detail is repeated at the base of the lid. There are no decorations apart from these functional grooves. Each element bears traces of hand finishing – small scratches, a slightly irregular surface, tonal patina, and spot discolorations create a natural map of aging. Preserved in good condition, without structural damage, with authentic patina, minor abrasions, and local darker spots typical for aged metals. In the form of this small container, the voice of 19th-century workshops resonates: a tool for everyday use, whose function did not require ornamentation. The silver plating, though now uneven, has gained a discreet nobility over time, reminiscent of days when each opening of the lid was a practical yet almost ritual gesture. The matte light moves across the surface of the pill box, hiding in the recesses of the patina – as if the whole wanted to help tell the quiet stories of old pharmacies, wooden counters, and morning light streaming through low windows. The pill box can be used as a refined, personal trinket box or jewelry container in modern and eclectic arrangements. It works well with glass trays, classic pen cases, or marble countertops – subtly highlighting the nobility of the metal. In a collector's cabinet or on a pharmacy shelf, it can serve as a detail connecting eras; paired with dark veneer, old books, and laboratory glass, it introduces a note of 19th-century authenticity to contemporary spaces. No additional technical data from the manufacturer or care instructions. For conservation, it is recommended to gently wipe with a soft cloth and avoid strong cleaning agents to preserve the natural patina and original silver plating.
