An elegant set of 12 vintage table knives, dating from the 1950s–1960s, typical of post-war French tableware. The stainless steel blades are marked with the words "stainless steel" and an emblem depicting an angel's head. This pictogram corresponds to the signature of a French workshop, most likely from the Thiers region, the historical capital of cutlery. At that time, many manufacturers identified their products with a symbol rather than an engraved name. The subtly patinated Bakelite handles, imitating horn, offer an elegant and comfortable grip. They are accented by attractive decorative silver-plated metal (nickel silver or nickel-plated alloy) ferrules. The absence of a hallmark is quite common for this type of silver-plated metal, widely used in tableware from the 1940s to the 1960s. An authentic, decorative, and perfectly functional set, ideal for an elegant table or a kitchen with character. Good overall vintage condition, with light scratches on the blades consistent with age. Some minor imperfections and cracks in the Bakelite. Dimensions: Thickness: 7 mm x Length: 24.5 cm. Weight: 550 grams
