Daybed in solid oak. Made in the 1950s, during the Reconstruction period, when René Gabriel excelled in creating simple, quickly manufactured furniture with rational lines, yet without neglecting the clean aesthetics that emerged post-war. Originally intended for resting in a living room, this daybed can now be used as a single bed or chaise longue. The head and foot of the bed are at the same height. The crossbars hold cushions in place while providing transparency and lightness. Small details such as the through tenons enrich the uprights. The original metal and spring mattress base can easily be replaced with a more modern slatted base. In very good condition, very stable and restored (application of a new golden oak varnish and polishing). Completely disassemblable (delivery disassembled). Dimensions: L.205 X D.85 X H.66cm. Maximum dimensions of the mattress/base: L.195 X W.80cm. Height of the mattress/base position: 28cm. Please feel free to contact me for the delivery cost via Cocolis, bed disassembled.
