African Yoruba Ceremonial armchair in flower pattern beads, early 20th century

Magnificent Yoruba African ceremonial chair. Unique and rare piece. Originally, these were thrones for kings in Nigeria. Material: wooden structure covered in glass beads with floral motifs. The beads are assembled by hand then sewn and glued to strips of fabric which cover the armchair. Each armchair represents hundreds of hours of manual labor for the craftsman. Country of production: Nigeria, 20th century. This unique and ethnic item may show some patina and other signs of use.
