Folk art painted wedding chest

Small painted bridal chest from Eastern Europe. Decorated with beautiful floral motifs, it dates from around 1900. There are slight signs of wear, such as slight damage to the corners and old woodworm stains, which have naturally been checked and treated. In the past, it was customary to present this type of bridal furniture to the bride and groom at a wedding. These pieces were then placed in a state room on the farm, rarely used for distinguished guests or special occasions. A magnificent decorative historical object. 42 cm high, 85 cm wide, 50 cm deep.
