Flat desk with sliding shelves – Louis XVI style – Mahogany, leather and lace

Louis XVI style flat desk in solid mahogany, from the 1960s, restored by our workshops. The central top is covered in grey-beige leather adorned with stamped gold fillets and a floral frieze along the edge. Two side sliding shelves covered in the same leather decorated with gilding, bringing the total width to 230 cm (shelves: 2 X 37 cm, fixed width: 156 cm). The apron is rhythmically designed with 5 drawers arranged in two rows of three, separated by small columns and adorned with classical-style bronze lock entries; brass fillets running along the entire crossbar. Four tapered and fluted legs, characteristic of the Louis XVI vocabulary, embellished with brass rings and resting on metal sabot. The piece is entirely original in its structure, with the leather top showing some slight signs of normal wear. Five new keys made during the restoration; functional locks. Undershelf: 60 cm.
