Danish Cigar GE240 chair by Hans Wegner for Getama, 1950s

Danish GE240 Cigar Chair designed by top designer Hans J. Wegner in 1955. The chair was manufactured by Getama and bears the GETAMA stamp on the bottom, which supports the provenance and authenticity of the armchair. With its organic design, the GE240 is one of the more distinctive Wegner armchairs from the 1950s. This vintage example features a solid oak frame and is equipped with the original spring cushion system and upholstery. The armchair is in very beautiful vintage condition. The beautiful patina of the oak wood, developed over the years, gives this chair extra character and makes it clear that this is an authentic vintage piece. Both cushions have a few stains on the underside/back (see photo), but the visible top is still in very good condition without stains. They are also still very comfortable. The GE240 is undoubtedly a special piece of Danish mid-century design, ideal for enthusiasts and collectors of Hans Wegner and authentic Scandinavian vintage design.
