Kokeshi workshop usaburo okamoto (1917-2009). Around 1960. Top 22 - head diameter 6.5 cm - Active 1940-80. He invented new styles by introducing techniques using spinning machines, and a painting combined with hollow engraving, polishing and stencil drawing. He liked the grain of keyaki and chestnut wood, until then little used, widespread in his native region. His workshop "usaburo kokeshi" is taken over by his descendants.
