Arne Jacobsen Early Oxford Leather Desk Chair for Fritz Hansen 1965

High back desk chair, model oxford, designed by arne jacobsen in 1965 and manufactured by fritz hansen denmark. Originally the chair was designed for the professors at st. Catherine's college in oxford when he was chosen to build an extension for the college and also designed the surrounding landscape and a furniture series. This chair is an early edition from the 1970s and is still completely original. The shell is made of laminated veneer covered with foam and upholstered with high quality black leather. The chair swivels, is adjustable in height and has a nickel plated five-star base with casters. The armrests are covered with leather. Very comfortable and good looking office chair. The chair is in good original condition. Some normal traces of wear. The leather is still very good with a nice patina.
