Renovated vintage buffet/sideboard, Scandinavian style, 1960s.

This sideboard comes from Germany. Inspired by Scandinavian design, it dates back to the 1960s and accurately embodies the functional elegance of mid-century design from Northern Europe. At the intersection of German sobriety and Scandinavian softness, it captivates with its clean lines and attention to detail. Its particularly successful façade is one of its strong points: two sliding doors that glide smoothly and free up space without cluttering the room, which is valuable in a small interior. They open to a large single compartment, featuring a spacious shelf that spans the entire width. This composition creates a harmonious visual rhythm while offering excellent storage capacity in a compact and elongated format. The fine and regular grain of the teak continues elegantly on the doors as well as on the sides, revealing a veneer typical of German productions from this period. Its warm and deep hue is subtly highlighted by recessed wooden handles, carved into the doors, with a minimalist design that preserves the purity of the façade. The base, composed of four slightly flared tapered legs, enhances the Scandinavian aesthetic of the piece while giving it a beautiful visual lightness. The whole is perfectly proportioned and reflects careful craftsmanship. It has been fully sanded and then protected with a dark oak varnish to reveal the richness of its teak.
